Drupal 6

I just downloaded Drupal 6 so I can play around with it a bit and check out the new fancy features. I'm not sure when but at some point I'll be upgrading this site to the latest version of Drupal. One new feature I definitely like is the drag and drop functionality for weighing items such as menus. I need to explore it some more, but so far I like it.

Have to say that my biggest

Have to say that my biggest irk so far is the nearly total lack of module support. Being new to Drupal I have no idea how quickly this will change, but for the "production" (non-commercial site) I'm setting up, I elected to use Drupal 5.

Drupal 5-6

I haven't yet gotten to the point of looking to see which of the contributed modules I use or plan to use have been updated to 6. But if that's a concern and you're not developing any custom modules for the site, it's probably not going to be a problem to develop the site in 5 and then just update it to 6 when all the modules you need have been updated. I'm not sure I would take any time to develop a module for 5, since soon you'll probably have to update it to 6, anyway. The speed at which modules are updated all depends on the development community of Drupal. Luckily, it's a very big one and there are a lot of people who want to see their modules updated as well; so I don't think it'll take all that long.

Here's some documentation on converting Drupal 5 modules to Drupal 6, if you're interested in joining that effort:
